Weekend with a masked theme...
So over the weekend we went to mine trully's friends houswarming and birthday party. I was not overly eager to attend, because of my difficulty in understanding mine trully's mother tongue, but we went...and it was a lovely do I have to admit. Unfortunately not many pictures were taken and all I have to show for it are these:
It was a themed party, attendees advised to wear black, white or pink. Mine trully went for black and white, and I ofcourse had to settle for the pink (in my own terms of course).
We had fun, I caught only half of what was being said (thanks to the much that mine trully has taught me thus far) and it was different. That is what I enjoyed about it. You dont get that many black people who organise themed parties.
It is a pity though that we only wore the masks for about five minutes, and had to then take them of because they were irritating our eyes.
Well here is item one on our memories box motho wame.
Happy Monday

Style is Everything: Serena van der Woodsen
In this next installment for Style is Everything, I bring you Serena van der Woodsen, the IT girl of Gossip Girl. She is the one who without lifting a finger, gets everthing just by being alive. She is the one the boys go GAGA over, well except for Charles Bass (Chuck), just because at some point they were step siblings, but she has been there, done that and definately bought the shirt and slept in it. She is beautiful and her smile is infectous, the wild girl, the recovering addict of a very notorious teenage life, and in the current season of GG (Season 5) she is trying to make a name for herself and prove to people she is able to do things on her own. Oh Serena, who are you fooling? The gold spoon will always be in your mouth.
Next to Blair, she is theeee best dressed also, and she has the height and body for it. Proven in these few on screen shots of her:

Daydreamer - dreaming never killed anyone
Me and Hloni went to Land Rover/ Range Rover in Centurion while window shopping for a car for her mum over the weekend. Going to this particular dealership was dubbed "The Dreamers". After learning of the new Range Rover, I could not help but step in there...this is what went on (:
Hloni likes the black, five door look

Style is Everything: Blair Waldorf
So yesterday I was watching Gossip Girl Season 5, Episode 5. This here happens to be one of my most favourite series to ever hit the small screen, and I just die by watching. I was introduced to it by my friend while it was on Season 2, and trust me to dig up season one, and follow every season thereafter. Word on the street is that it is on it's last season. This is tragic! Very tragic. Should it ever come out on DVD, I am no doubt going to get myself that set.
So as I was watching, the biggest part of GG has always been the fashion for me, more than the Chuck and Blair romance, or the Serena drama, or the Dan outsider - insider jam...it has just been the clothes on that set. Gosh I keep saying if I could own the GG wadrobe, I would be untouchable. Pity I am just this simple girl. So as I was saying, it sparked the thought that I shoud actually blog a series of my favourite styles from GG.
And we start with Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) and her outfits that made me gasp! There has been much more (as she is undoubtedly theee most stylish character), but had to narrow it down to these:
Above: A very nice and clean combination of colour. Matches perfectly dont you think?
And finally: Classic Black. Enuf said (I am going around looking for a black blazer, and its been months...imagine what I could pull off with one!)

Above: Miss Waldorf sure can play with colour, love the combination of colours in the first pic.

The thought in my head...
I have long been thinking about changing the theme of my blog, to sort of give it an injection of life as at this poing in time I feel that it is too dark (what with the black background) and it just does not communicate any good feelings. The main reason I started this blog was to detail or reflect on some of the things that happen in my life, as well as share lots of pictures and memories. This has been partly achieved, and I have even found more fire in which to post on this here blog of mine.
But I am very aware that it will expand, it will change, it will be horrid on some days, and on some it will be inspirational and breathtaking. But I am so scared of this change. I fear that if I change the theme, my blog will never look the same again. But I have realised that I have not really asked myself what the people viewing this blog think about this theme, or what they would like to see. As much as it is about me, it is also very much about you, the viewer and reader who sees this once a day, twice a week, once in every three months and the like...this is for you!
So I stepped out of my shoes and figured that some colour and light (brightness) would do a great deal for this here blog. It would sort of be a re-birth, a step into the now. So, next time you see this, the blog will be different. Some of you may like the changes, some of you may prefer the current template, but we all know that in life we cannot please everyone at the same time.
So for those of you who will not like the change, be brave, like I was and open your mind to the possibilities of a new look. And to those of you who will like the change, this is mainly because of you, open minded and flexible person!
So...let us walk into the light, together.

For You
''We need other people, not in order to stay alive, but to be fully human: to be affectionate, funny, playful, to be generous. How genuine is my capacity for love if there is no one for me to love, to laugh with, to treat tenderly, to be trusted by? I can love an idea or a vision, but I can't throw my arms around it. Unless there is someone to whom I can give my gifts, in whose hands I can entrust my dreams, who will forgive me my deformities, my aberrations, to whom I can speak the unspeakable, then I am not human, I am a thing, a gadget that works but has no ashes.''
